You may have heard something about chaos theory. Among several complex points, it points out that by making a minimal decision, often considered insignificant, taken with complete spontaneity, we can generate an unexpected transformation in an uncertain future.

In all companies and societies there is always the chance that this will happen, but in companies in particular we must monitor ourselves so that changes actually lead us to know how to deal with a future that is generally uncertain.

We are facing a major economic, political and technological transformation, dealing with an increasingly widespread and present ambiguity. I recently heard from a great leader about the importance of empathy in the reality in which we live.

He spoke about empathy, a key element in new leadership models. Although this word is simple, it represents the ability to put ourselves in the “shoes” of our colleagues and clients, understanding how we can help others in all the challenges we face in our daily lives.

It is crucial to create an environment where teams have the necessary “empowerment” to take risks, without running the risk of judgment resulting from a lack of understanding of other realities.

Empathy also means that each of our daily actions must be focused on our transformation as a company and as individuals.

Having empathy does not mean accepting any point of view or any situation, but listening to understand the other person's perspective with the aim of helping.

If it is physically proven that the flapping of butterfly wings can have an effect on the planet, imagine that with the power of each of our small acts oriented in the same direction, we can truly transform companies and individuals everywhere.

What is your opinion on the subject?
